- ANTONIO
Born about 1820 in Lisbon, Portugal, as Antonio de Sequeira. He went to Brazil, changed his name to just 'Sequeira', and married Maria Candida Rodrigues Cordeiro. They probably lived in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sol. Their children were Eduardo Candido, (Chemist), JOAO CANDIDO, Adelaide Candida, and Antonio Gerardo Candido. I can now trace Maria's family back to the famous Piquerobi and his father, Cacique Guaiana, in 1472.
- JOAO CANDIDO
Born 1852-3 in Brazil probably in the Pelotas area. Provisions Merchant/Shipper. Came to England and worked for Thomas Ashton & Co.,Pendleton area, Salford, Lancashire. Was known as 'JOHN' in England. Married LUCY ANN ASHTON 3 July,1873 in Pendleton. Had 3 children: LUCY MARY, FREDERICA AMELIA, and WILLIAM CANDIDO. He returned to Pelotas after the death of his wife, and later remarried (ADELAIDE). Died circa 1920.
- LUCY MARY (Lulu) - Born 1874-6 in Pendleton, Salford. Married EDGAR BOLD, solicitor, and had 2 children:

- EDWARD GUY (known as GUY), who married Margaret Anderson and had 3 children, Patricia Mary, Peter and Lesley.
- FREDERICA AMELIA (Freda) - Born 1881-2 in Pendleton, Salford. Married SIDNEY ELLIOT NEWBERRY, a Bank Manager in Pelotas, on 11 July,1912 in Worsley,Salford. Lived in Pelotas. Had 2 children: MURIEL and IRENE. Cannot find any trace of their births in the Manchester/Salford area, so probably they were born in Pelotas. One of the two girls died in infancy in Pelotas (family opinion is divided as to which!). After her husband died, circa 1920, she returned to England, and towards the end of her life was living in a Kensington hotel, where the other daughter, then married and living in England, presumably London, visited her regularly.
- WILLIAM CANDIDO
Born1877(Q1) in Pendleton, Salford.Shipping clerk and Grocer. Lived in Pelotas for several years before marriage, working for his uncle, the Chemist. Married ADA KNIGHT 22 June,1907 in Irlams O'th'Height, Pendlebury, Salford. Lived at 184 Church Lane, Moston, Manchester. Died 5 June,1962 in Withington/Chorlton cum Hardy, Manchester. Had 2 children: JOHN and LUCY ADA
- JOHN (Jack) - Born 5 April,1914 in Manchester area. Detective Inspector with Manchester Police C Division. Married OLIVE CHRISTIAN circa 1940 probably in Bride, Isle of Man. Lived in Burnage/Levenshulme, Manchester. Died 25 February, 1985. Had 1 child: WILLIAM BARRY
- LUCY ADA Born 20 August,1908 in Pendleton, Salford. Lived at 184 Church Lane, Moston, Manchester. Married FREDERICK WILLIAM MASON 8 June,1932. Lived at 32 Woodville Drive, Sale, Cheshire (now Greater Manchester). Died 3 September, 1997. Had 2 children: JEAN ELIZABETH and ALAN DAVID.
She was my mother.
